Wild Angels
The Wild Angels started as a garage rock-a-billy band in the UK in 1967 and was selected to be Gene Vincent's backing group on his British Tour the next year. They released a few studio and live albums in the '70s and are still playing Rock 'n Roll Reunion gigs and Teddy Boy festivals in the new millenium. http://theband.hiof.no/albums/live_wild_red_hot_and_rockin.html

Jesus and Mary Chain
They played the Lanch in the 80's

Dada, a 12-piece Stax-influenced, jazz-rock fusion band. Dada released one, eponymous, album in 1970,
with a line up including vocalist Elkie Brooks and guitarist Pete Gage. Singer Robert Palmer, formerly with The Alan Bown Set, and bassist Steve York both joined Dada after the album had been recorded, and the four were signed by Ahmet Ertegun of Atlantic Records for USA and Chris Blackwell of Island Records for the UK and rest of the world to form Vinegar Joe in 1971, adding keyboard player Dave Thompson.

Adrian Mitchell
Adrian Mitchell (Poet) was part of the 1971 Lanch Arts festival, reading at the Colin Campbell at Lunch time. Back in 1961 he was one of the poets involved with the national Poetry and Jazz tour which had its first airing outside of London at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry.

Alexis Korner was a blues musician and radio broadcaster, who has sometimes been referred to as "a founding father of British Blues". A major influence on the sound of the British music scene in the 1960s, Korner was instrumental in bringing together various English blues musicians.In 1961, Korner and Davies formed Blues Incorporated, initially a loose-knit group of musicians with a shared love of electric blues and R&B music. The group included, at various times, such influential musicians as Charlie Watts, Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker, Long John Baldry, Graham Bond, Danny Thompson and Dick Heckstall-Smith. It also attracted a wider crowd of mostly younger fans, some of whom occasionally performed with the group, including Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Geoff Bradford, Rod Stewart, John Mayall and Jimmy Page.Wikipedia

The Nice played both the Naked Lunch c 1968 (the forerunner of the Lanch gigs) at the Locarno organised by the Art College before the art college and Lanch combined and the Lanch Poly c 1970.

Pink Floyd
The Pink Floyd were part of the Lanch Arts festival 1972 who played at the Coventry Locarno along with Chuck Berry (who recorded My Ding a Long there) and Slade. Pink Floyd played early version of tracks which were later on the Dark Side of the Moon in a more developed form and the programme was then Eclipse before it was changed to Darkside of the Moon. Indian Summer
Indian Summer were a Coventry progressive band who made an album, still sought after on the RCA Neon Label. they played the Lanch at the 1971 Lanch Arts festival with Leon Russell and Osibisa.

Discovered by Jim Simpson of Henry's Blues House in Birmingham who also discovered Black Sabbath the year before. Keyboard player and songwriter Bob Jackson went on to play with John Entwhistle's band, Ross, Pete Brown's Piblokto, Bandfinger, The Dodgers, the Fortunes and others along with some of his band mates.

Jack Bruce and Friends
After Cream split up, Jack Bruce made a solo album in 1970 and went on tour with 'Friends'. Jack Bruce on bass and vocals, Mitch Mitchell drums (Ex Jimi Hendrix), Larry Coryell guitar, Mike Mandell - Organ.
They played the Lanchester in 1970 with Colosseum and New Jazz orchestra - organised by Bron Agent and Colosseum manager Colin Richardson - see the New Jazz Orchestra post on here for links on this.

One of the best nights at the Lanchester Arts Festival in 1970 was booked and arranged by Bron Music Agent and Colosseum manager - Colin Richardson. The three acts on that night were Jack Bruce and Friends / Colosseum and the New jazz Orchestra. A jazz super band, if you look at the names -

Groudhogs
Groundhogs are a British rock band founded in late 1963, that toured extensively in the 1960s, achieved

Duster Bennett
Duster Bennett was a popular one man blues band on the Lanch in the early 1970's
Anthony "Duster" Bennett (23 September 1946 – 26 March 1976) was a British bluessinger and musician.
Based around London, his first album Smiling Like I'm Happy saw him playing as a one-man band, playing a bass drum with his foot and blowing a harmonica on a rack while strumming a 1952 Les Paul Goldtop guitar given to him in 1968 by Peter Green. Backed by his girlfriend Stella Sutton and the original Fleetwood Macon three tracks, the album was well received. Principal Edward's Magic Theatre
Principal Edward's Magic Theatre were, like Medicine Head and others, on John Peel's Dandelion label c 1970 and played the Lanch about then.
Bio: Formed at Exeter University in the late sixties (their name was apparently inspired by the head of the university), Principal Edwards Magic Theatre were more a multi-media enterprise than a rock group, appearing with dancers and lightshows. John Peel signed them to his Dandelion label and helped produce their albums. They also appeared regularly on his 'Top Gear' show. One of the main assets was lead vocalist, Vivienne McAuliffe, whose crystal clear voice helped make them a little special. Their music was innovative and imaginative with a strong folk influence and an air of mysticism. This is typified by The Death Of Don Quixote and Third Sonnet to Sundry Notes of Music on their second album. However, arguably their best track was Pinky: A Mystery-Cycle. It's a melodramatic number with a thudding drumbeat, haunting lyrics and frequent changes of tempo.
However a loosely-knit outfit at the best of times, the group went their separate ways after three singles and a further album. The last one Round One, was made for Deram in 1974.
