Soft Machine

The first band I saw at the Lanch c Oct or November 1969 was Soft Machine. I realised that night that, surrounded by students all digging the band, that my musical horizons were about to be considerably challenged! And they were luckily!

Soft Machine were an English rock band from Canterbury, named after the book The Soft Machine by William S. Burroughs. They were one of the central bands in the Canterbury scene, and helped pioneer the progressive rock genre. Wikipedia

You will have to click back to youtube for this 1970 live concert in Paris but well worth it -
